Richardson Community Band

Richardson Community Band

The Richardson Community Band is a diverse, all-volunteer wind ensemble whose mission is to provide high-quality and challenging musical experiences for its members while educating and entertaining family audiences in Richardson and the Metroplex.

The Richardson Community Band provides an opportunity for life-long musical expression and enjoyment, promoting artistic enrichment in our community, and preserving the rich repertoire and cultural history of the wind band.

The Band offers a friendly and relaxed atmosphere that unites its members through their common love of music, all the while striving for the highest level of musicianship.

The Band began in 1970 under the direction of Joseph Frank, Sr.

George Jones was the conductor for over 30 years, and while he recently passed, he will forever be the Conductor Emeritus. George established the Summer Series (6 concerts in a park setting), and he also began the indoor concert season at the beautiful Eisemann Center. The RCB continues to thrive under the current conductors Robin Owens, associate Conductor Jane Chambers.
