Our group has been holding weekly performance opportunities on Zoom. We call them "Zoomsoirées," from our previous title of "Soirée Musicale," for a members' recital. It's been working quite well, and helps with the social aspects of the group as well as providing people a place to play and thus motivation for practicing. There are important settings to know about in order to have a good sound, like "preserve original sound," and disabling the automatic microphone volume adjustments, but with these adaptations, it's been working quite well.

We too are meeting weekly by Zoom. It's a great opportunity to check up on friends, share a little music, and keep the sense of community we strive for in our group. I'm afraid it will have to do for the foreseeable future.

We have been having bi-weekly "Zoom-ins," where I can update the general membership with our steering committee's plans, but also get to socialize. I am intrigued by the idea of encouraging members to play when we gather in the hopes it might motivate others to continue to practice.
