Hi! This is Gail Brechting. I just wanted to share a disappointment here in Michigan. Our band was given the update that our rehearsal space, which is in a beautiful newly remodeled community college band facility, is not having any performance ensembles indoors or outdoors this fall semester. We were hoping to have chamber groups of 10-20 rehearse out in the lovely courtyard until perhaps October. As the weather changes to cold, then move inside to one do the big rehearsal rooms, where we have been advised can safely hold up to 24 people. (Pre-COVID - 80-90) This is a big disappointment as you are all dealing with also. Now we will have to get creative and turn to possibly churches, family centers etc. It is looking to be more months of virtual banding of some nature.
Hmmm? I wonder how big our garage is?? :-)

How are others in the colder climates working through these issues? Ideas?

Also, what other ways are you keeping your bands committed and personally challenged to continue practicing?

We are all in this together and we will come out of it together!
