Regional Connection Events - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

They are one-or two-day events that bring together musicians and bands for collaboration, education, networking, performance, and discussion.

ACB holds these events as an additional benefit to our members. Until 2023, ACB held at most one event each year, the multi-day ACB Convention.  Recognizing that some members cannot travel to multi-day events in other parts of the country, ACB began offering additional regional events starting in 2024 with plans to provide at least one each year.

Each event is typically a single day, sometimes preceded by concerts on the previous evening.

While each event will vary, a sample schedule might be:

ACB plans to have at least one a year in different parts of the country.

ACB endeavors to hold these events across the country, including the East and West Coasts as well as the central United States.  ACB relies on help from its members to host the events by working with venues, which helps to determine locations.

There is no formal definition of a “region.” Anyone is eligible to register for any event. Although we hope to draw many attendees from the local region, we also welcome anyone wishing to travel to these locations to participate.

There will be an application process announced several months before each event. The application will ask for information about the band, including recordings.

Yes! There will be music reading sessions where musicians will read new music and spend some time working on a few selections. Currently, these events do not feature a performance of this music, which allows attendees to be introduced to more compositions.

The sessions will be mostly new music, spanning grades 2 through 5.

Individual registration fees will be under $50 for ACB members, which includes lunch.  There is also a non-member rate for musicians in the region who wish to participate but are not members of ACB.  Of course, we hope they will consider joining ACB!
