West Point Band

Lieutenant Colonel Tod Addison is the Commander and Conductor of the West Point Band, additionally he serves as director of the new formed West Point Music Research Center. He holds degrees in music education and performance from The Ohio State University and East Carolina University. He was a public school music educator in North Carolina for seven years before enlisting in the Army in 1995. He earned his commission in 1998 and has served in multiple key roles, which have influenced the long-term direction of the Army Band program. In 2017, he conducted new works for the West Point Band’s bicentennial concert at Avery Fisher Hall in New York City.

Chief Warrant Officer Two Jonathan Crane is currently a Research Analyst for the West Point Music research Center. His main areas of study include performance measurement, data analytics, music cognition, and music for health and wellness. He holds degrees in music education and composition from Lebanon Valley College, Bowling Green State University, and The Hartt School. Recently, he is studying peak emotional experiences in listeners of live and recorded concerts. He is also part of the national initiative of sound health with military populations, which researches and applies the full range of musical experiences to improve the well-being of service members, veterans, and their families.
