Good afternoon to everyone from Ireland. I hope you're all keeping well. The Irish Symphonic Wind Orchestra joined the ACB last year and we're hoping to start building relationships and partnerships with members and bands in the US in the future. Ironically the current climate gives us a real opportunity and I thought you might be interested in an Adult Band Course that I'm working on right now which kids off on July 3rd.
The Royal Irish Academy of Music and Bands of Ireland have joined forces to give adult instrumentalists the opportunity to engage with some of the finest performers and educators from Ireland, and across the globe. The Virtual Band Course (July 3rd - 17th 2020) will give wind, brass, and percussion players the chance to join a unique community of their fellow musicians, whilst also availing of the highest quality tuition, responding to exciting challenges, and flexing their own talent and ability.
At a time when traditional bands and orchestras are unable to rehearse and perform as an ensemble, the Virtual Band Course will bring musicians across the world together to create beautiful music and lasting friendships.
Requirements: Participants require access to the internet, preferably through a computer or tablet, and should dedicate a space/time to course attendance to avoid interruptions. The course will be delivered through video conferencing and email. Participants are expected to have access to their instruments for the duration.
